This site chronicles my experiences learning through WIPRO-MSUrbanSTEM and how this impacts my teaching practice!
I am Once Again Reminded That the Whole World is Our Classroom!
This photo is taken of my students on an overnight outdoor field trip to YMCA Camp Duncan! I call it ""The Fantastically FUN Feast! " The trip is an exciting and memorable community building experience for our middle school students, especially considering many of them do not get opportunities to enjoy nature in the outdoors. Einstein once said, "Small is the number of people who see with their eyes and think with their minds!" WIPRO-MSUrbanSTEM opens up teachers eyes to the natural wonders of our world, things we somehow seem to evolve to overlook in our busy lives. Look closely at the photo below and think of all of the questions that could be asked and explored through STEM? How many ideas can you think of? I wonder if human use of fire as an energy source was discovered simultaneously in different parts of the world, and if so, by the same means? Did the earliest use of fire by our ancient ancestors contribute to other technological advances for some peoples more than others? What would our world be like if solar energy, instead of combustion, had evolved into the dominant energy source from our ancient times until now?
